FAQ

Is mistletoe cactus the same plant as mistletoe?

No. This page is Rhipsalis cassutha, as listed by the ASPCA, family Cactaceae. American mistletoe is a different record: mistletoe. NC State lists this cactus as Rhipsalis baccifera, previously Rhipsalis cassytha, and uses the common name Mistletoe Cactus. That spelling note is not a second grade. Check the scientific name on the tag.

Does the mistletoe cactus entry name a toxin?

The toxic-principles field reads "Non-toxic". That word is not stored as a toxin. The non-toxicity line reads "Non-Toxic to Dogs, Non-Toxic to Cats, Non-Toxic to Horses". No clinical-signs field is on the entry.
